Loving the soldier, hating the war

Many times, when I listen to Christian Radio stations (mainly the one in Milwaukee WVCY), I hear a term they use to justify how they are able to treat people who do things they don't like like crap. They claim they "Love the sinner, hate the sin." With that in mind they manage to approve of basic thugery that takes place at gay friendly events or at the Womens health clinics.

With that in mind, let me continue.

Yesterday, I heard Rush Limbaugh claim that people such as Rep. Kennedy, who are pointing out that Bush lied and people have died are paying a great dishonor to those who have died in the war in Iraq.

Need I say I agree with Rep. Kennedy and others. Bush lied to us all about what was going on in Iraq. He took the focus off the hunt for Osama Bin Laden and put it on a person he wanted to get.

But, with regards to not paying honor. Let me tell you about part of my day today. Veterans Day. When my day started I said thank you to each of my co-workers who served in the military with a "Good Morning, and Thank you!". And I ment it!

At 10:55, our work place stopped for two minutes of silence. This was to honor the day that this date was picked from, the surrender marking the end of WWII. The agreement was signed on the 11thday, of the 11th month, on the 11 hour of the day. I stopped, I stood and in my heart I said a private thank to each person who allowed me to have the freedom I have today.

Sadly, Iraq had/has nothing to do with that.

Iraq is about oil and power. It is about revenge.

To those who have served in our Military, I say thank you! Your service is appreciated. To those who are in Iraq. You are following orders. I understand that. And, I say thank you to you as well. I sleep well knowing that you were ready to 'give all'
